I really want to migrate to this platform, but it's still not quite there. The last 10 or so posts on my feed were things I already saw earlier today, and there doesn't seem to be a way to share posts I like with my friends. I'll keep checking back, but I'm disappointed that it's not more complete

Lifelong democrat here, and I totally agree. I'm so over it with Schumer and Jeffries. They need to make way for serious leadership.

That makes more sense.

Kinda indirect, isn't it? Do grocery stores have that kind of influence? Also, people have to get food somewhere.

That time is amazing. I'd be happy to run a single mile at that pace! I mean, that's a 4:50 mile, right? And then he just forgets to stop for 26 miles?!?!

I know it's off topic, but why does he always wear his glasses on the tip of his nose like that?

Can I read this without paying for a subscription to NYT?

Even he thinks he should be arrested.

Hard disagree. The Musk family has openly called for "technkcracy," in which they would rule all of North America, including Greenland, Canada, and Panama. He thinks he's president.

Is this a real thing, or satire?

I thought that following the Pope was like, Catholicism's main thing

What an interesting piece. Have you tried polishing the metals? I imagine that's what it'll take to really make it pop.

I love that for him.

When I heard it described, I thought "maybe he was just waving or something." But no. Now that I've seen it, I am convinced of what that was. Disgusting.

The only reason I kinda wish I was on X is so that I could leave.

I think it's a type of influence too, since so much of politics these days is based on spectacle and measured in views. I'd love to take the wind out of those sails a bit, and hopefully get back to a place of valuing level-headed journalism and commentary instead of fearmongering and clickbait.

Literally every time I've read about a new or potential carbon capture technology, the article says "as a bonus, the carbon can also be used as fuel!" Short sighted. But why not take carbon as wood and somehow lock it up, maybe underground? The timber industry burns tons of slash, for instance.

Totally. And I think it used to be that dishonest journalism was legally punishable. I don't know details, but I heard Reagan rolled that back. I think a lot of older folks believe that everything they see on "the news" must be true because it used to be that way.

The assumption that journalists are bound to tell the truth seems pretty tenuous when you look at Fox news. And of course, they're taken seriously by a lot of reputable people, such as the white house. What we need is to trust the people sharing news with us. How can we restore trust in journalists?

Have you heard of the Great Molasses Flood? It's another fun and weird piece of history.

Good plan! I love that about nursing- there are so many types of work that you won't get bored. One reason I chose cardiology is that telemetry experience will make it easier to do things like travel nursing or ICU if I choose that someday. Who knows where I'll end up. Good luck out there!

07.12.2024 16:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You'll find your spot. I'm in cardiology too, and I love it. ED is chaos. Whenever I've floated there, it feels super unstructured, but I'm sure you get used to it. An OR nurse once told to only do OR if you're sure it's for you, since you'll lose your chops for other types of nursing.

Exactly. And demonstrate that they have whatever it's going to take to wrestle it back.

Congrats! I've been an RN for about 3 years, and it's one of the best choices I've ever made. Do you know yet what area of nursing you want to work in?

07.12.2024 03:21 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Why would they do this now? Wouldn't it just get shot down by the currently Democratic Senate and President?
