Isn't the usual trick to replace "ld a,0" with "xor a"?

Why are people claiming to have "upgraded" to ethernet? This *is* ethernet 😤. And just to make me sound even older, this is the SECOND version of ethernet cables. Ask Dracula about the first version of ethernet.

Disaster recovery is often limited to a few systems and might rely on hot or warm standbys. But if someone's gotten in and hosed your SAN, you're, as they say, screwed.

(Never had this problem with off-site tapes😉)

The latest buzz-phrase is "immutable backups" for this very reason.

Meta had this a while ago: Their systems were offline and they couldn't enter the data centres as the access control was part of what was offline. They had to call in locksmiths!

I think the largest pool of applicants I've had to sift was over 200 applicants.

On your first point *many* websites do a terrible job of validating email addresses and reject perfectly valid ones. I've had some companies reject an email addresses with more than three levels of domain. (e.g. jj@fee.fi.foe.fum)

The last point is a real pain in the butt when Indeed et al screw up scraping the information and the applicants get contradicting information about the job.

Here's a view from the other side of the interview table:
2) Having all application forms in the same format *really* helps when trawling through many applicants.
3) Many companies don't actually submit their job adverts to Indeed, etc. Indeed (badly) scrape adverts from our own job site.

If you're referring to scrolling problems that seems to have been fixed.

I'm gonna regret saying this but the loss of the middle ground is hurting politics too.

At work, even though we don't use weird from addresses, we publish copies of All Staff emails at a well-known (internal) web site.

I can see why so many people fall for these kinds of things: I've trained my family to not trust anything yet they're still so nervous when I say "Bin it, it's a scam" Milgram would have a field day if he was still alive.

I've met academics who have never spent a day outside of academia since they were sent off to nursery. It showed.

I remember as a kid watching the American Football program on Channel 4. When Channel 4 broadcast the SuperBowl live for the first time my dad stayed up to watch it: And regretted it.
