My godson (nephew) got into med school!!!

Since he did his undergraduate in Ohio, he will stay in Ohio and not pay too much for med school!!! That’s a cool benefit.

I spent my childhood exploring serpentine barrens that were the remnants of these ancient vents, without even knowing it.

It's hard to grasp how large this grouper is until you see it in comparison to the ship's toilet on the left.

This appears to be an Atlantic goliath grouper or 'itajara' (Epinephelus itajara). They can reach 800 lbs (350 kg) & 8 feet long (2.5 m)

When we get a nor'easter, I can feel the wind at my desk. And our windows don't even open!

Bonus though - I did shut my fridge off and put drinks/containers on the window ledge - they are fridge temp now.

At the office with a USB powered heating blanket and external space heater.

Our building got a 2M makeover a few years ago, but they left the drafty ass windows and didn't install any insulation. And we are right on the bay with strong winds at 20mph and 12degrees.
