A poster on 8.5 x 11 inch paper saga Fishtown fish facts: red lipped catfish or of ocephalus Darwini. Then a pic of that freaky fish with 4 limbs it rests on the ground and then the words “stg this fish real red-lipped batfish walk ocean floor with they flippers RLBF have RBF, not they fault
RLBF have a bioluminescent lure that glows to attract dinner
RLBF lipgloss is popping, RLBF lipgloss is cool, all the fish keep jockin, they chase RLBF after school
RLBF got scales like armor and shine bright like a diamond
Red-lipped batfish will teach you how to dougie, I can promise u that.

Take a moment
And and realize the moment
You took has already passed
Thank you
See you next time
One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

Campus did a float in our parade tonight! And I’m a total idiot and video’d my feet. FML.

I mean. In 5 min, we had that much consensus. This is…not good. If it’s that obvious and admins are not doing anything about this stuff, how is this shared governance? Our past president truly ruined us.

I was at a faculty leadership cohort meeting today. About 20 professors across the university. We got in groups of 4 and were asked to make lists of the uni’s biggest issues. WE ALL MADE THE SAME LIST.

That usually means I am overwhelmed and haven’t processed feelings in a while. Good time to sit with a cuppa tea.

This is precisely why I can’t attend this year. This time of year is so hectic. I enjoy it but at this stage of my career, I need to skip it sometimes. Enjoy! There’s a vegan restaurant about 2 miles from the conference center, excellent food. Also a bottomless mimosa place nearby.

I can't get over the fact that they scheduled a televised Cabinet meeting, hyped it as a major event, planned it all out to show how active and in control Trump is ... and then he dozed off in the middle of it. Repeatedly.

I have a lock but set it to be unlocked so students can grab snacks if needed. But then a student filled my office with tiny ducks so I’m reconsidering my policy.

Nick Ray for Santa
Our Dean Fabrice for Santa
Wozniak for Santa
The grad students decided that our party Santa should get voted on. All faculty were nominated. Then things started escalating…..these are now all over campus. (The one in the middle is our dean, I voted for him!)

A flyer with a dark blue and black gradient background, with five faint microbes decorating it. White bold text, in a curved line reads "Do you want to see more from us?" Beneath it is the BMA logo, and yellow neon style text saying "Donate". Undeneath that in bold white text it says "to support our mission of equity in microbiology. Link in bio"
Happy Giving Tuesday! ⭐ Join us in supporting @blackinmicro’s mission by donating here: blackinmicrobiology..... Your generosity makes a difference! Thank you!
