I had a brilliant first visit to WWT Martin Mere yesterday- loads of great birds, including 7 species new for me for the year, including the very handsome ring-necked duck.
Keeping a year-list never used to appeal, but now I’m doing it I love the way it spurring me on to have days like this one.

I’ve seen lots of brimstones over the last few weeks round and about Hitchin- this one was spotted back on the 9th of March.
