Guy Gives Himself 19th Century Psychiatric Illness After Consulting With ChatGPT "For 3 months, he had replaced sodium chloride with sodium bromide obtained from the internet after consultation with ChatGPT."

After asking ChatGPT what to eat instead of salt, a man slowly poisoned himself over course of 3 months and gave himself a psychiatric illness that was common in the 19th century, according to a new medical case study:

They'd have to find some cases of humans ever having done it to learn from first.

I wouldn't be willing to do that myself, but everybody has their own preferences or needs about what they will share

I agree it's a stupid rule, In the case of Bluesky though, all you have to do is let it take one picture of your face once, and you've already shared a picture of your face with them anyway. There are other sites I'm a lot more bothered about.

The profession will be transformed, because it's a bloated mess which delivers hugely questionable RoI, and too much of it is a wild job creation scheme - it's getting a haircut it's been dodging for 20 years. AI is just the cover story though.

I'm happy to use AI where it helps. I'm just finding that the areas where it helps are pretty tiny. In terms of PoC/MVP coding it seems to me no more likely to move the dial than platforms like AppEngine/Joyent/Firebase, or zero-code tech generally.

But if you don't pay to accept the award, how will you pay for a table at the awards ceremony? If nobody pays for tables at awards ceremonies then Giles Brandreth will have nowhere to speak, and he might end up wondering the streets talking to random strangers. You don't want that on your conscience

Palantir accuses UK doctors of choosing ‘ideology over patient interest’ in NHS data row Tech firm’s chief, Louis Mosley, dismisses fears that contract ‘threatens to undermine public trust in NHS data systems’

I'm with the British Medical Association here. Genocide enabler Palantir should be nowhere near our NHS.

I THINK that a box of Weetabix should feature a picture of a bowl of the breakfast cereal next to a slumped, knocked-over bag of granulated sugar containing a claggy spoon used moments before for stirring coffee. There may be people who cover their Weetabixes in strawberries, grapes and locally-sourced honey, but I've never met them.

Either it's AI or somebody has told them it's suddenly alright to write everything in lists, hallucinate products and use sodding em-dashes

Tickets for going up the Forth Bridge go on sale tomorrow, limited number, limited period, in aid of Barnado’s. Absolutely amazing experience (even if you don’t get stuck at the top for an extra hour…). Don’t argue, just do it! brnw.ch/Yourview1

We have lots and lots of partial autonomy systems which are really effective but aren't sexy to singularity pushing weirdos.

Are they spending 3 billion in cash, or 3 billion of something essentially valueless which they can print in-house, like their own stock?

The actual day that Ferris Bueller took off in Ferris Bueller's Day Off was this day, June 5, in 1985. That means his day off is as many years removed from today as it is from the end of World War II.

They're nice buses, but I think I actually preferred the cheap seats, as long as you can get two to yourself. The non-lounge bus I got also had Bluetooth on the screens so you could use your headphones.

There should be a little badge you can wear to let people know that your hair is 'doing a thing' today. I'm not trying to look like this. This isn't who I am. I invite you to accept it as I have and join me in hoping for better tomorrows.

The alcohol ban is more or less completely unenforced, and is largely ignored by the people who take the drinking too far. In any case it's almost always the alcohol they drank before they got on the train that's the problem. The ban has no positive effects whatsoever.
