Best news I've read in ages! I strongly urge Mahmood to drop her appeal and ideally, step down from the govt. We need a govt that seeks to protect ordinary people and their right to peaceful protest.

I wish #KeirStarmer would read this, but I don't think he's even on Bluesky. Never have I been so disappointed in a UK Prime Minister - for the reason below, amongst many, many other reasons. (My lack of disappointment in other PMs is down to expecting nothing from them in the first place.)

For those unfamiliar with the plight of Lindsay and Craig Foreman, there is further information on the gofundme page, here:

and on the main petition page here:

Well over a year since they were detained, Lindsay and Craig remain incarcerated without fair trial in Evin prison. The wider situation in Iran appears to be deteriorating, which heightens the fear shared by their loved ones.
To those saying, "but the Greens will split the vote":
1. Things have changed.
2. It's not the Green's fault that Starmer has the Merdas Touch (turns everything to shit)
3. When the Greens offer the only inspiring option, perhaps we should see the Labour candidate as splitting the vote.
Hey, could you fix your link so that it actually links to the donation page rather than the image? Thanks!

It depresses the hell out of me that we're in an era of "might is right" where facts are an irrelevant inconvenience and qualities like compassion, justice and integrity are being crushed underfoot because they aren't profitable.

Ed Davey criticises Starmer and Cooper for failing to acknowledge Trump's attack on Venezuela as a clear breach of international law
Cooper response is both cowardly and disgusting
Darren Jones saying repeatedly the Labour Government won't comment on a hypothetical.
It's not hypothetical - Trump is saying very loudly repeatedly what he's done and boasting about it.
And yet the UK Government won't even say it's a breach of international rules. Shameful.

Let's be blunt about this: in reducing benefits to disabled people, this govt aren't trying to help us into work, they're reinforcing the damaging stereotype of us as skivers and scroungers.
Merry Christmas!

If I was a skilled worker who wanted or needed to look for a job outside of my own country, I wouldn't even consider the US under the current administration.

In 2010, Nina Cresswell did what every survivor is told to do: she went to the police and reported a sexual assault. She expected to be heard, believed, and properly supported. But within a few hours they said it wasnβt a crime.

The government needs to listen to and act upon what these legal experts are saying, otherwise we are just going to have more suppression of free speech and peaceful protest. Also, I believe that Yvette Cooper should resign from the government.

Three words: Fuck right off.
1. Illegal immigration is only an issue because the far right choose to make it one and greedy bastards like to exploit desperate asylum seekers.
2. Stop forcing people into using smartphones.
