Had a commandfest share a convention area with the SouthEast Leatherfest. It was a kink con. They also had judges. Their penalties were more…imaginative than ours.

The single most frustrating thing about commander is when the player who is overwhelming ahead just takes forever to actually take their turn.

The rules of the game are becoming unknowable, even among the folks responsible for knowing them.

Power creep and velocity of “new staples” being created.
Also, as a judge…rules complexity. Commander as a game (not the cards..but the interactions) is unknowable, even to the people tasked with knowing it. Makes it hard when players are increasingly finding areas the rules don’t work

I think you guys are falling victim to the horns side of the horns/halo effect. There’s a *lot* of players that treat the IPG as another set of rules to use for advantage. Breaking that mentality is often difficult.

Hi. I was the floor judge. It was not missed. It was part of the investigation. The saga had been sac’ced so it had no physical counters on it at the time we approached. So we attempted to prove its use/presence on the previous turn. And recounting the previous turn was where difficulty was.

I think the level of wotc support and the general wants of commander players drives it towards being a side.

And it didn’t even tell me which system or which environment.
And obv the guys contact info was wrong too.

For all that is good and holy..if you come to me with a screen shot of a cryptic error asking “hey, what’s this mean” and can’t answer “what do the logs say?” I will yeet you to the fucking moon

With secret lairs, which is better:
-Hard to order, limited quantities, but they ship immediately
-longer window, print to order, but they ship 3-6 months later.

When we had the second, we complained about the long ship times. Now we have excellent ship times..but it’s harder to purchase.

I'd like to go a day without being very angry

As I’ve gotten older a lot of my political and social beliefs have changed to align with a simple concept:
I’d rather let a guilty person go free than jail an innocent person.
This applies to so much, ex. I’d rather allow some food stamp abuse if stopping it meant folks that need it go hungry, etc.
