Could be that you choose the shape and then place it like you normally would. If the object created was driven by geo nodes, you could then further adjust it afterwards (add segments etc).

I’m personally hoping all primitives will be geonode based on day, but that’s another feature 😊

How about removing them all, but replace with an ‘add multi-primitive’ tool?
