Geen probleem toch? Je wasmachine staat ook 98% van de tijd uit, je zet ‘m aan wanneer je hem nodig hebt. Curtailment is niet per definitie slecht.

Dat de stroom gratis is is één ding, maar je moet ook de kosten meenemen van het bouwen van de fabriek, transport, personeel… en dan moet er nog iemand zijn die die waterstof überhaupt wil kopen.

Dat ze tariffs als reden voor het slechtere resultaat durven te noemen is al wat 😅

Dit zijn wel twee vrij grote aannames: dat in 2035/40 waterstof de beste optie is om het seizoenspatroon in de hernieuwbare opwek af te vlakken, en dat die waterstof specifiek van offshore wind op de Noordzee moet komen. Beide vrij ver van zekerheden zou ik zeggen.

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned: building 6 GW of solar for every 1 GW of base load demand seems like a lot, no? In NL we have ~25 GW of solar on ~ 18 GW of peak demand. We’d have to go to 100 GW in this model’s world. It would require a lot more space, also for grids.
