Statistics on Canadian wildfire activity thus far in 2025
GOES satellite geocolor image showing lots of wildfire smoke over Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario
Canada has 405 out of control wildfires (149 actioned & 256 monitored). Area burned in 2025 thus far is 6.3 M ha (an area larger than Nova Scotia. These fires produce lots of smoke as can be seen on the GOES- East geocolor image below.
