Trump Labor Department Says His Immigration Raids Are Causing a Food Crisis In a filing in the Federal Register, the Labor Department argues there are “immediate dangers to the American food supply” due to a lack of migrant agricultural workers.

So this is funny.
The administration just issued a rule slashing foreign agricultural worker wages. And to justify it, in a public filing, Trump's Labor Department alleges that Trump's immigration enforcement has devastated the Ag workforce and caused a "risk of supply shock-induced food shortages."

You are right that the rest of the article is good reporting, but it is frustrating to see this blatant intimidation bordering on martial law reported as "tasked with protecting federal agents" when those agents are masked secret thugs. And why use the bad faith claim of the admin as the header?

A President threatening to jail a sitting Governor is unacceptable and is the opposite of what this country stands for and was founded on. I stand with Gov. Pritzker and for the rights of each state across our great nation.

Why are you reporting this as if the Trump administration is acting in good faith? They are only attacking cities in Democratic states. They are doing it against the will of local elected leaders. Their federal agents are masked and unidentifiable. Wake up, NPR.
