3M mask with extra filters. Ideally a full face respirator.

Soft body armor of some kind for impact munitions. Doesn't have to be ballistic.

Helmet. Can be ballistic. Can be bump. Even a bicycle helmet can save your life from a grenade.

I think the main Feeling I'm having right now is a deep sense of purpose.

But I also just had bourbon and am a little tipsy, so maybe I'm extra sentimental right now. Lol.

I'm thinking tonight about butch identity, and how taking on the role of protector/caretaker doesn't have to just apply to my partners, but can also extend to vulnerable members of my community...

and I'm having a lot of Feelings.

All of this.

What they actually want to do is make a big show of terror and try to convince people to stop standing up.

I have genuinely suffered quite a lot because of homophobia and misogyny. I would like to live in a world where those things were not an issue.

But I don't want to live in a world where I'm someone else.

I genuinely feel so fortunate to be a lesbian, and a butch.

If I had a choice to reincarnate as any gender/orientation, I would choose this life again.

I think I might do this more moving forward. I'm not making much as an author right now, and I've been mostly just reinvesting my profits back into the business. But that doesn't feel very rewarding. I love the idea of buying some more indie books with my royalty checks!
