I feel like I was raised to be someone who was agreeable and great to work with (no fault to my well-meaning parents in the slightest), but a quality I wasn’t raised with that I want to instill in my daughter is bravery. I think that’s the number one trait this next generation is going to need.

Yes!! It’s a great reminder of this truth. So often my husband and I split up if we want to go do something fun but it’s nice to realize we can all enjoy an evening outing on occasion!

Took my daughter to a wine & cheese kind of party intending to bail by 7 to get home for what was already going to be a late bedtime for her, ended up staying until 8:30, and actually had the easiest bedtime maybe ever? Is the secret to easy sleep just partying it up with my baby?

Sometimes my 8-month-old daughter will let out a tiny toot while crying hysterically, and this is how I know I truly did make her.

Every day we wake up to new horrors and I wonder how anyone is getting anything done and not running through the streets screaming. In 2016-2019 I remember losing whole days of work for news items much less terrible than this. It’s useless to flail in despair but I hate feeling so numb!!

I am not a tea-totaler by literally ANY means, but it is so weird to me that weed is being targeted as an athletic aid. Like weed is fine, enjoy it, but it *cannot* actually make a better athlete, can it? I need to see some science backing up that it will make me a better runner.

Yes, I have worked on an entire production that was completely virtual and we delivered an excellent show! Everyone's jobs were done well. It was a bummer to not see my coworkers on a regular basis and explore what else we could have made.

That is true! And I know I do those things! A lot of people unfortunately don't. My data is of course anecdotal, but it seems like the husbands of my close friends don't often seek out friendships IRL outside of work. My hypothesis is that this is contributing to the "Male loneliness epidemic"

I disagree for the reasons stated above, but you're absolutely entitled to your opinion!! I think there are parts of working with people face to face that just cannot be replaced by Zoom.

… I think a lot of teams would benefit by having 1 mandatory in-office day where everyone sees one another. It has to all be on the same day or it doesn’t work—that’s how you get the ghost-town office feel where no one feels like it’s worth it to come in.

I think WFH has a lot of benefits for flexibility (and I love taking advantage of this!), but I think sooo many people got their socialization through work. I don’t think we ever need to be in an office 40 hours a week again, but…

Hot take, but I think a huge contributor to the increased isolation that so many Americans are feeling is that a lot of people never really went back home the office post-Covid. We talk about the lack of 3rd spaces (which is real!), but now a lot of people don’t even have a *2nd space*.
