And as reviewed by me in the current Prog magazine ;-) The new mixes really are terrific and Sid's sleeve notes are always top value!

Chris Chibnall's entire career is based on the embarassment of people who commissioned him doubling down and insisting he's good even though what he delivered was crap. Anyone else who pumped out Day One, Cyberwoman, Countrycide and End of Days should by general industry rules never worked again

Full support of Rob here, not rude at all. The way this has been handled by the production team is mind blowingly incompetent. You were supposed to save us from Chibnall, not be almost as bad at it as him...

Off to Ally Pally to talk Thick of It with the Thickovites. None of us have changed. Except Rebecca, who’s sold out.

Got Tuckered for the first time in 13 years last night. It was bracing and sort of wonderful. I’ve missed that psycho, it turns out. Should probably sort that out in counselling. Anyway, thanks to all of you who came along.

If you at the same time are changing the rules retrospectively and pulling the rug out from under people, you can't argue cogently against doing the same thing in the exact same policy area, you just end up going 'it's bad because [bad word]', which is not an argument.

Not a single one of the 110,000 knuckle dragging thugs in London today will vote Labour.
There is nothing to be lost but plenty to be gained by Starmer condemning them in very strong terms.

every time there's political violence discourse i think about how jo cox was assassinated in broad daylight by a fascist who shouted "britain first" as he shot her, and now nine years later her party is dedicating every moment in power to placating the ideology of her murderer

The extracts in the press from that Epstein birthday card thing are parts of the sleaziest and most compromising documents I’ve ever seen in my life.

I know you love him madly so let’s journey far in to yesternow and help me decide which ten releases - live, studio and archive - should be included in @mojomagazine.bsky.social’s
How To Buy Electric (era) Miles (Davis).
Best comments, as ever, will be included in the mag.

Robert Jenrick, the Tory Shadow Justice Secretary and former Home Office Minister, joining protesters outside an asylum hotel is one of the most disgusting acts by a frontline British politician in living memory.

happy I found this again---a favorite clip of Eno and Cale in the studio, 1989. "Are any of the other verses all right?" "I don't think so, no."

A quote from a Guardian article reading β€œThey eventually found a niche as a revival act, bolstered by shows that depended on their stockpile of unimpeachable 60s hits: at the height of his 70s fame, Elton John unwisely booked the Beach Boys as a support act and, by his own account, they blew him offstage.”

Pretty sure this Alexis Petridis Guardian article on Brian Wilson’s death didn’t mean to say this about the Beach Boys … although, maybe they did no judgments here?

The idea that the Oasis tour is the cultural highlight of 2025 is absurd. It's a money-grubbing nostalgia fest. Oasis were never at the cutting edge of music. The current circus is just two old geezers laughing at their fans

The Government is planning to roll out mandatory digital ID. It’s invasive and could mean millions of people unable to go about their daily lives. Right now it's just an idea - we need to stop it becoming a reality. Join me and sign the petition now! you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/re...

Reading the Baldwin Observer interview with Starmer, his trajectory to becoming a slightly tragic lost opportunity figure now seems set.

I don’t think β€œwe’ll kick the disabled a bit less viciously” is the concession Starmer, Reeves and Kendall think it is, especially when it blows out the water their stated reasons for introducing the policy in the first place.

Fwiw, I don't think McSweeney is to blame. Starmer is to blame, for giving him such a prominent position. The election guy should be a prominent voice in the room. He should not be the room.
