I don’t think “we’ll kick the disabled a bit less viciously” is the concession Starmer, Reeves and Kendall think it is, especially when it blows out the water their stated reasons for introducing the policy in the first place.

Fwiw, I don't think McSweeney is to blame. Starmer is to blame, for giving him such a prominent position. The election guy should be a prominent voice in the room. He should not be the room.
