A wonderful childhood memory came to life. Parked down the street from our place was the Scooby Doo Mystery Van.

Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma and Fred were off solving a mystery I presume.

My wife wouldnโ€™t let us wait by the van until they returned. #scoobydoo #childhoodmemories #70s

Saddened to learn #KenDryden has died. It feels like one of my most precious childhood memories has faded a bit with this news. As a kid in small town Nova Scotia in the 70โ€™s, playing street hockey was everything. When I was in net with pads and a blocker fashioned out of cardboard, I WAS Dryden. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Norm! Cheers star George Wendt dead at 76 | CBC News George Wendt, the actor known for his portrayal of beer-loving Norm Peterson on the hit NBC sitcomย Cheers, has died at the age of 76.

Thanks for the memories Norm! ๐Ÿ˜ข โ€œMy agent said, It's one line. Actually, it's one word.' The word was 'beer.' I was having a hard time I was right for the role. So I went in, and they said, 'Why don't you read this other one?' And it was a guy who never left the barโ€. #GeorgeWendt

Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. A day of action, advocacy, & education to promote acceptance/equality for the #2SLGBTQIA+ community. In 2025, hate towards Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer people is on the rise, so allyship more important than ever.

Things about #inflation that make you go โ€œhmmmm ๐Ÿค”โ€. Oil companies used taxes to justify high cost of gas. There was a kernel of truth to this. When the Carbon Tax was cut, prices dropped from $1.84 to as low as $1.50. So interesting the price is now back to nearly where it was with the tax. Hmmmm.

Today we mark Red Dress Day in British Columbia. This is why:
63% of Indigenous womenย have experienced physical or sexual assault in their lifetime. In 2023, Statistics Canada released a report showing that Indigenous women and girls were 6X more likely to be murdered than other groups of people.

there is unfortunate talk focusing on what one country did more than others to win WWII. History shows it was a shared effort. As an example, Canada shared the load by being among the first in and among the last to leave. All our allies have similar stories we should be collectively proud of.

Itโ€™s #ElectionDay in #Canada. Casting my ballot first thing, before work to join the more than seven million who already voted in advance.

Regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum, remember that the only poll that counts is this one, so if you didnโ€™t already vote, please do.

Your morning cup of coffee is about to cost even more โ€” thanks to U.S. tariffs | CBC News The price of a cup of coffee in Canada is expected to rise as the world continues to feel the effects of U.S President Donald Trump's tariffs, according to industry experts and cafรฉs.

Makes me more committed to #Canadian coffee roasters. It is the painful reality of being so closely integrated with the US market. Itโ€™s changing but certainly wonโ€™t happen over one cup of coffee.

โ€œMany Canadian coffee roasters and brands source their product from U.S. wholesalers and warehouses.โ€

Federal parties spar over drug consumption sites as they pitch plans for B.C.'s toxic drug crisis | CBC News Federal parties have pitched different approaches to dealing with the toxic drug crisis in B.C. โ€” particularly when it comes to supervised consumption sites.

โ€œDrug densโ€? Regardless of where you are on the continuum of views about safe injection sites, stop using language that victimizes patients who use medically supervised sites.

Making this out to be like slinking around back alleys in the 1800โ€™s looking for a place run by mobsters is dehumanizing.

If the line to vote in todayโ€™s #Vancouver by-election is any indication, traditional municipal voter apathy is not a factor. This might only be for 2 council seats but voters clearly feel strongly about them. It will be interesting to see what those feelings are about once the ballots are counted.

Not my usual workday attire. I recently had the opportunity to tour the new St. Paulโ€™s Hospital under construction in Vancouver.

โ€œDugas was vilified for decades. Subsequent studies have found Dugas was not the source of the outbreak.โ€ #LGBTQ

Over 450 homeless people died in B.C. in 2023, according to coroner | CBC News A new report says at least 458 homeless people died in 2023, up 23 per cent from 2022 and close to triple the 155 deaths reported in 2020.

When we talk about โ€œpublic safetyโ€, we need to remember that โ€œpublicโ€ includes those who are homeless, who are disproportionately more at risk. Of 458 homeless deaths in 2023:
- 86% were due to "accidental unregulated drug toxicity."โ€จ- 91% were classified as "accidental."

Canada, the Northern Outpost of Sanity Justin Trudeau, in his final week as Prime Minister, tells Donald Trump to shove it.

An eloquent, intelligent piece about Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ at an exceptional, surreal time in our history. Itโ€™s in the New Yorker. Itโ€™s written by an American.

B.C. premier takes his โ€˜pissed offโ€™ message to U.S. audience amid Trump threats | Globalnews.ca Eby appeared on ABC News Friday morning, where he was asked for his response to Trump's repeated statements about making Canada the 51st state.

๐Ÿ‘ ๐ŸŽคA bit of a mic-drop moment from BC Premier David Eby to end what has been another rather surreal and worrisome week for Canadians. Agree or not but diplomacy norms are clearly being redefined.
