Today would be a good day for @captmarkkelly.bsky.social and Senator King to get on board with #DCStatehood. They're the only Dem caucusing Senators not cosponsoring the bill. Seems like a good time to stand up for democracy for the 700,000 of us living in DC.

TACO is spouting off again about crime in DC & revoking Home Rule. He must have some ‘other’ significant problems he’s trying to distract people’s attention from. Anyhow, crime is down & he can’t unilaterally revoke Home Rule.

There are two sides. TACO is on one side, that openly opines about repealing home rule & further subverting democracy for the 700,000 people in DC. The other side is a full throated support for full democracy in DC. #DCStatehood is morally just, constitutionally sound, & the right thing to do.

DC deserves statehood.

DC deserves 2 senators, 1 voting rep., & budget autonomy.

DC deserves these things not because of one bill or one nominee. We, the people of DC, deserve these things because we’re Americans like everyone in the 50 states. We deserve fairness, equality, & #DCStatehod
