Goodnight from Badbury, rain flooding down its hill like black tears in memory of ancient battles. Goodnight from DI Callaghan and DS Nokes, having a cup of tea and a pink wafer debrief in the police canteen after their run in with the Ashcourt Gutterbloods. Goodnight from Hookland.

Your Reactions to the Thunderbirds 4K Restoration Double-Bill Experience Calling all International Rescue agents! We at Anderson Entertainment recently tasked our UK-based operatives with a most special assignment - to attend the screenings of our spectacular Thunderbirds ...

I thought it'd be fun to get some fan reactions to our Thunderbirds 4K double-bill. Figured maybe 40 or even 50 would be a solid number of responses to aim for.

170 of you told us what an amazing time you had. Evidently a religious experience for some of you!

I know I share this a lot, but I keep having to remind myself of this, even though I drew this very comic.

Art might not save the world, but it'll certainly make it a more pleasant place to live.

Oooft, replacement components for the HasLab RiD Omega Prime are only *just* starting to show up? And they've literally just sanded down pre-existing pieces within the figure?? Makes me glad I bit the bullet and 'fixed' my Prime myself, but really feeling for everyone else's who's waited so long!

Michael Palin, dressed in ragged clothes / hair / beard, drags himself up the shore, the sea not far behind him.
And... if you've no idea what I'm going on about - the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus began today 56 years ago on BBC1. The show began with Michael Palin quite far out to sea, making his way to the shore, crawling towards the camera, and just managing to utter the word "it's..." before he's interrupted by the opening titles and a voiceover telling us the name of the show. Every episode of the first series began with a variation on this, the raggedy character never quite getting to make the full announcement

Fifty six years ago today, around eleven-o'clock-at-night-ish, Michael Palin crawled out of the sea.

I have one:

Social media is a bizarre mix of advertising and journaling.

I think it's been bad for creator's mental health that much of the advertising has been offloaded onto them to do through social media.

Interesting thread and it happens in all fandoms. I think it's great that older shows are getting a younger following. A couple of years back, I dressed as Rhapsody Angel for a comic con and child wanted their picture taken with me because they loved Captain Scarlet.

Hard as it may be to accept, not everything to do with Thunderbirds or Space: 1999 is meant for you. Landmark anniversaries such as these are a worthwhile excuse to let other people share in the toybox.

The sustainability of these worlds relies on their appeal beyond fandom bubbles.

Efforts like these documentaries and mini-series are superb ways of reintroducing people to these worlds. For the fans who know, want, and consume everything associated with these shows, that's proving to be an absurd thing to consider - and with it, an exercise in humility.

"The TB/1999 doc doesn't have any new insights into the making of these shows!" Did we say they would have? That's the angle pretty much every other doc has gone with. We've tried to do something fresh that navigates the tricky fact that so few people involved in these series are left with us.

A lot of long-lasting/hardcore Anderson fans are turning their noses up at these efforts. Okay! We can't please everyone. But we do try to appeal to everyone. To the lapsed or new fans of the Andersons' worlds. The hardcore fans therefore have a hard time understanding when something isn't for them.

Oddly fascinating seeing some of the reactions to the Thunderbirds/Space: 1999 documentaries and the Scarlett Moffatt TB mini-series. A lot of it reaffirms why I shy away from fandom stuff. Some of these reactions really highlight the self-entitled attitude that makes fandom insufferable.
