Puyo Puyo Champions is basically the Waffle House of the series. It's cheap, lacks substance, and is something you drag somebody to so you can fight them.

So during @nenilein.com's first stream of Mado Fia when it came out in Japan, Neni needed to come up with a suitable translation for this monster type, and I came up with one in chat. Here's a clip of that:

Honestly, it sure doesn't look like it from what I've seen (read: a complete playthrough of the game in Japanese) But still, while the game may not be the masterpiece we would've wanted, if you have love in your heart for the Madou/Puyo cast and lore, I highly recommend this game. The cast, especially the core five, are an absolute delight, and would fit right in with the rest of the cast. And all the background lore to the magic system is completely consistant with everything we've seen from before, especially from Fever 2 onwards."
