"We have some of the biggest technology and public companies offering equity to Fannie and Freddie in exchange for Fannie and Freddie partnering with them in our business," Pulte said Friday during an interview at a housing conference hosted by ResiClub. "We're looking at taking equity stakes in companies that are willing to give it to us because of how much power Fannie and Freddie have over the whole ecosystem." Pulte has been seeking to revamp the two government-backed housing finance entities since taking over the FHFA, which oversees both Fannie and Freddie. Pulte, speaking remotely to ResiClub co-founder Anthony Pompliano, said Friday that he's seeking to have the two entities, which have been under government conservatorship since the financial crisis, act more like businesses. Fannie Mae appointed a new acting chief executive officer, Peter Akwaboah, last month.
