Itβs called marginal pricing. The price of energy is set every half hour by auction. All suppliers receive the price set by the highest bidder who clears. So if you need 3 elephants of energy and 2 bid 1 elephant each at Β£40 and a third bids 1 elephant for Β£80 then all 3 clear and the price is Β£80.
