If only there was a way to watch the fully restored (and for some of them in glorious CinemaScope) presentations without having to storm the Disney Archives in Burbank. But no-we get 99 seasons of Wicked Tuna instead.

This particular episode would be rebroadcast 2 other times in season 2: 4/18/56 and 7/4/56. This is one of 5 missing episodes that unfortunately is not in my collection (so close to having all anthology episodes) so I had to recreate this episode by viewing the 3 P&P short subjects for context.

The episode concludes with scenes from "Men Against The Arctic" which would be released December 21st 1955, and would go onto win an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject. This film highlights how the icebreaker ships are constructed and how they move thru the Arctic icepacks.🧵

"The Blue Men of Morocco" is next up on our travels all about a nomadic tribe traveling thru the desert to sell their wares and camels in the city of Marrakesh. The film details their lifestyle living in the harsh Sahara Desert. 🧵

"Tiburon" would never be released in theatres so what was featured on this episode is the only footage ever shown. Next up are scenes from the upcoming release of "Sardina" that would hit theatre February 15th 1956. The tuna fishing scene is not to be missed!! 🧵

It's Disney Anthology Sunday recap time! Broadcast 70 years ago today the ultimate travel log (Disney style): People and Places-Tiburon, Sardinia, Morocco and Icebreakers. This would be the first time any of the People and Places series of films to be featured on the anthology series. 🧵

“The Mickey Mouse Club” premiered on ABC on October 3, 1955.

What is interesting with this episode is the original narration of Dinah Shore has been totally eliminated, Jiminy now is your narrator AND he sings all the songs that Dinah did in the original theatrical version. I guess she was asking too much for royalties to be featured on TV!

Yup-I failed to read the fine print that said all submissions become the property of The Walt Disney Company. All I got out of it was a pop socket for my phone and they sent me the plaque that was underneath the picture. I remade the picture, bigger and more detailed, just need to get it framed.

I'm pretty sure track #3 is supposed to be "Pink Of Perfection" and NOT "Pink Of Pinkerton". I wonder if this makes the record more valuable since it is a misprint. The things that go thru my head as I continue to transfer all my Disney vinyl to digital with the new recording program.
