โTrumpโs naked greed for wealth and power, his cruelty, his obscenity, his stupidity, his childishness, his arroganceโall these have galvanized the opposition as never before in recent U.S. history. Thatโs what โNo Kingsโ was about.โ

Really appreciate the words of @eggerdc.bsky.social today. Saturday was never going to magically fix things. Iโm tired of the โnone of this mattersโ crowd. Yep thereโs a long time to go, it will get harder (& SCOTUS rulings may introduce extra hurdles), and weโre going to have to put in the work.

Conversely, "people who object to his willโwhenever, whereverโare dangerous insurgents who must be rooted out."
perhaps the biggest story TFPever ran was a catastrophically shoddy argument that George Floyd ackshully died of an overdose. When confronted with irrefutable evidence that the piece was simply wrong, Weiss didnโt take it down, she asked her critic, @radleybalko.bsky.social, to come on a podcast.

TEXT: A high-profile columnist who left The Washington Post amid the paperโs ongoing editorial upheaval is joining a growing anti-Trump digital news startup. Former Washington Post opinion columnist Catherine Rampell is joining The Bulwark, where she will write a weekly economics and policy-focused newsletter while contributing to the companyโs podcasts and YouTube channels. In a telephone interview on Friday, Rampell said that although she had spent her career at traditional media institutions like The New York Times and the Post, she was encouraged by The Bulwarkโs growth and felt committed to its editorial mission, which emphasizes supporting Americaโs democratic principles and institutions. โItโs very mission-oriented as an institution, and within that mission, thereโs obviously room for a lot of other views,โ Rampell said. โAll of those things were appealing, and itโs a pretty kickass group of people.โ โThe Bulwark is a written, video, and audio product. And as we grow, we are looking for people who can excel across all those mediums,โ CEO Sarah Longwell said in a statement. โCatherine is not just one of those people โ sheโs one of the best of those people. She also brings a unique expertise in economics and a mission aligned worldview. Weโre beyond thrilled sheโs decided to join us.โ
My colleagues and I are SUPER excited about this: The amazing @crampell.bsky.social is joining our team at The Bulwark.

HAPPENING NOW: The Trump administration withdraws its claim that parents of the Guatemalan children it tried to send back last month had requested their return.
DOJ says it has no basis for that claim now in light of contradictory info provided by the Guatemalan government.
