People like to claim that autistics are bad at communicating and like, my dude, the problem does not lie with us, it lies with the web of manipulation and lies and passive aggression and ulterior agendas that you weave around yourselves instead of just doing what we do, which is saying what we mean.
03.10.2025 02:01 โ ๐ 1064 ๐ 231 ๐ฌ 12 ๐ 25I couldn't understand my second daughter for such a long time, but I admired her creativity, stubbornness, independence.
She was 7 when she started having meltdowns at school. I researched and discovered she is autistic, and that I am too. Suddenly I understood her completely. She was just like me
They talk about a huge sudden increase in neurodiversity, but I'm watching a #TOTP from 1979 and in this one episode alone there are *at least* 3 artists we now know have #ADHD, #autism, etc, we just didn't know it at the time.

It's way faster than the whole time-consuming process of actually doing things. This is real code someone sent to me for review. A screenshot of a code editor. The line numbers are in the lefthand column, running from 121 to 125. There is a comment that says "Verify packages were created and check sizes" Then line 123 says echo Verifying Lambda packages were created... and Line 124 says echo checkmark emoji colon All Lambda packages verified successfully. There is no line in here that actually did anything.

Hot take: the ideal stim activity is a musical instrument. Repetitive, tactile, very *very* deep range of extremely small things to selectively pay attention to across several senses, annoys the hell out of neurotypicals.
Highly recommend stimming, loudly.

I hate John Howard.
I am irreparably disappointed in Albo.
I hate hearing Albo boasting about his govt's achievements (while he does nothing to stop a genocide) as much as I hated hearing Howard boast (while he waged war on Iraq). #auspol #RecognisePalestine #FreePalestine #ZionismIsNotJudaism
I want to do a ๐งต about the Sidney Sweeney thing, because it's *extremely* revealing & educational.
First, to be clear: I could not give less of a shit about the details -- the ad, the rhetoric, the jeans, her boobs, whatever. Good lord, who cares.
Let's look at the *structure* of the episode.
"I spent decades thinking I just wasnโt trying hard enough. That I was lazy, cold, selfish, too intense, too odd. But really, I was just The Boy Who Couldnโt Pretend and shouldnโt have had to...
I do know this: Iโm not putting the mask back on."
If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

You werenโt โbad at lifeโ.
You were trying to live in a world that never made space for your brain.
You werenโt โfailingโ.
You were adapting - to noise, to pressure, to expectations that made no sense.
You werenโt โemotionally immatureโ.
You were masking grief so deep it didnโt have words yet.

Artists create universes from nothing.
Being an animator is an intimate understanding of life, environments, physics, what it MEANS to be alive, and the ability to convey the beauty within our world in seconds.

I grew up in 2 cities, and moved to a very small country town 17 years ago to be close to my partners family.
I yearn for the anonymity of big cities. Here, no matter where I go, I have to remember so many names, make constant conversation ๐ณ
Can't wait to back to the city once kids finish school
