I had that book he's holding in the front "I may not be totally perfect, but parts of me are excellent", and loved it. (I thought I still had it, but now I can't find it. The perils of being a book hoarder. LOL)

Five years ago today, Trump announced that he'd contracted Covid. Among other things, I hoped it might alter his approach to Covid safety, or help him sympathize with essential workers, or soften his opposition to universal healthcare. None of the hoped-for outcomes of that situation came to pass.

I grew up watching "Sesame Street" from the show's beginning, and have always been fascinated by the production side of it. I haven't read this book, but I strongly recommend the book "Muppets in Moscow", by Natasha Lance Rogoff, and the documentary "The World According to Sesame Street".

In my early struggling-actor days, I twice found myself performing for an audience of one. And yet both times, I got more applause than Hegseth did today from an audience of 800.

I'm a Fields fan, though I'll admit he was an acquired taste for me.

Thanks, Pam! I don't even have a car, so I took transit and Amtrak as much as I could, went on road trips with friends, and then rented cars a bunch. Yes, CA is huge, so there was a lot to explore.

Two years ago today, I completed one of my favorite projects, exploring California by visiting all 58 counties, all in under a year and without flying. It's a huge, beautiful, diverse place, and I was honestly unprepared for what an amazing experience it would be.

Sorry for the occasion, but it's a relief to see my feed go from pictures of Charlie Kirk to pictures of Robert Redford.

I just read "Calypso", by David Sedaris. He talks about how his parents had just moved to the South and were eating out in a restaurant when somebody announced that MLK had been killed, and they were the only people there who didn't applaud.

That movie was a hoot. All the scenes with "good" people were tedious, and all the scenes with "bad" people (campy Laughton, Colbert in the milk bath, the very creative gladiator scenes) were a blast.

Agreed. I very much enjoyed The Ghost Theatre.

"This has got to stop" is starting to sound like "thoughts and prayers".
