I managed to get a few more #oldhammer bits onto bases and covered the diagonal gaps ready for sand (cereal bar wrapper for the win)

For my stroke anniversary yesterday I’d timed the delivery astoundingly well of some bits to pick me up

More Russians assembled. I was going to say the last Russians but found a box of lancers I’d forgotten ffs

My mate is doing Crusades and think he’d love those and he’s also a bit low on cash at the moment. He’s not on here so alright if I sort out with you? Thanks!

Thanks appreciated. With the bulk painting it’s aiming for 1 or 2 colours a day - on a slow day I did the collars and cuffs in red. I use it as my ‘commute’ to separate my day as mainly work from home. It’s helping that I’m painting 28s as though they were 15s though 🤣🤣

Plus the compulsory picture of me learning to hold a brush again four years ago. Remember BEFAST.

It’s been an odd 4th year anniversary of my stroke today. Lots of things have gone wrong or cancelled. Even painting came out pants. But the main thing is I’m here and improving.

Goblin from the first figure I painted after the stroke which took weeks and I dropped the brush a 100 times vs now!

It went over the road and then dragged the road back in. The village has took a battering, it’s very sad. The potential impact on nature is huge as the road separates the Seas from the freshwater Ley where loads of migratory birds stop. Increased salt water in that would be catastrophic

Got the green highlights on today. Just black and flesh highlights to go. Probably after half term as it’s a little busy with the boys off.

Two more highlights on in 50 minutes. Sorted! Just 3 more to go, although had hoped to have them done today

Games from the club on Monday. Had great game of the Old World, the snotlings tied up the skeletons for ages!

That’s red, yellow, white and first green highlights done. The lines around the forage caps are not the best but they’ll look alright en masse

Always a slightly nervy experience, removing the horizontal slot on original slotta bases inc some 1984s…

Slight stress mark on one but seems okay. All a very snug fit so no glue needed. Will use cereal bar wrappers cut up to cover the gaps

I build it in as well. I’m quicker making mistakes and correcting than trying not to make them. If I’m painting in bulk I tend to know what I’ll get away with covering with the washes and highlights as well.

Probably more mistakes in the basecoat than there are non-mistakes. More changes in how my hand feels, so I’ll take it especially when that’s 2 battalions with base coats in seven days. Corrections (lots) next and washes.

Nice note from Perry along with the missing parts from the wagon. Their customer service has been excellent 👍

My plan was to paint something else next, perhaps goblins and ogres, but decided I’ll try and get the final two battalions done and dusted. So assembly started at the weekend. One more sprue on order so I can complete these.

Two more battalions of Russians underway. Just done the piping which I’ll touch up when I correct my mistakes
