Tonight was peak vintage cube when as a farewell to the format on Arena I did a call with my bestie to draft and play together our last one. We had to leave it at 3-0 but it was absurd fun. @lsv.bsky.social would be proud.

A bit of an expert.

Which cards do you think are traps?
14.11.2025 14:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I decided to write up some of my thoughts on arena powered cube / vintagecube (i'm around top 200 mythic at the moment, but I've played this since ~2012 when it was introduced to MTGO):

Check it out and feel free to ask questions!

30.10.2025 16:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm OK with using some gold on bo3 but I'm afraid I won't be gambling with my gems. Not worth it.
Would totally reconsider if 2-1 gives your entry back like in MTGO.
The entry fee for the Arena Powered Cube Draft / Vintage Draft really sucks. It should not cost the same as a regular premier draft.
It's a phantom draft and the prize packs are random packs from all across Arena.
I do not think you can charge Β£10 a phantom draft, on a digital card game platform with a closed economy that has NO WAY of withdrawing value.
This price is absolutely INSANE.
Cube deserves better than this.
All that, and more in today's video.
Not really my fav. But Night of the Demon (1957) has a special place in my heart.

A case of sentiment vs data.
It reminds me of Miracles in Legacy. I think SDT was ultimately banned because of rounds going to turns (GP era) more than because of its power.
Most players don't care, really, but the amount of haters vs lovers will tip the balance towards the ban. I think.
I don't know or care. Urza's Saga Time Drain was my first and only love to this day.
