Nice visit to Southport even if 🥶 🥶🥶, no sign of Smew or Snow Goose, both report since I left. Did pick up Twite by pier first for couple years. Other highlights Ringtail H Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Pintail, Raven Whooper Swans and plenty waders. 28 year ticks never a bad day!!

Kids in nursery for last day of 2025 so couldn’t resist a little twitch to Foryd Bay for the Bufflehead. Lovely duck showing very well, nice to also pick up water pipit as it flew over the embankment calling. Other highlights Scaup, Pintail, Wigeon, Snipe & Blackwit.

Nice start to 2025 birding, Lapwing Hall and Acre Nook highlights White Fronted Geese, Mandarin, Gadwall, Goosander and nice large flocks of Fieldfare and Redwing. The year list starts again 54 so far.

First post on bluesky. Lovely hour walking around acre nook / parklands with Hugo and Coco. Coco and I loved the blackberries. Birding highlight Hobby first on post then hunting dragonflies, probable YLG in with LBBG roost. #birdingwithcoco #birdingwithhugo
