We haven’t seen the full results of the review, so let’s not jump to conclusions. The reality is that we are under immense pressure to increase defence spending, respond to economic warfare, and respond to a fifth column in Ab. People and industries with money are leaving to avoid tariffs.

Is this what you were referring to in your original post? If “imperial collapse” is compelling Carney to undergo a spending review, then did the same motivate Chrétien? What are you really talking about?

I have, and I agree that more spending is due in health care and related programs. However, a review of some programs is a necessity. The government needs to respond to the unprecedented realities we are facing pragmatically, not ideologically. The alternatives are worse.
