They never have Essex. We wouldnโt want them to anyway.

Dipping a toe in warmer water.
They never have Essex. We wouldnโt want them to anyway.
30.10.2025 22:44 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lovely! Howโs your olive harvest? I read something yesterday that said the harvest in southern France had been poor this year.
28.10.2025 17:12 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just finished the Magus. I chuckled at the first lines of the acknowledgementsโฆ I had been worried about the absence of Nathan. I neednโt have. I really loved the characters and the plot. Makes me want to to go back to Sicily. Thank you!
24.10.2025 21:27 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Really interesting article. Itโs so powerful to read about real peopleโs experiences of the NHS. Iโm glad to hear youโre feeling better.
19.10.2025 10:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not sure if they still exist but in the early 80s Findus Crispy Pancakes came with a mozzarella and tomato filling in Italy. Sofficini Findus, I think. I really liked them. My aunt bought them for me but nobody else would touch them. My uncle said heโd rather eat โun manego de scovaโ.
18.10.2025 21:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I live in Dorset so the Poole - Cherbourg ferry is an easy trip to France. I love exploring Normandy by train and car. Caen, Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville and the magnificent abbey at Lisieux are particular highlights as well as the foodโฆ
16.10.2025 08:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This made me laugh a lot.
15.10.2025 16:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0On the TGV, the guard tells you off. Never seen that over here.
14.10.2025 12:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am once again begging you to boycott Tesla
14.10.2025 10:02 โ ๐ 770 ๐ 271 ๐ฌ 25 ๐ 9I hate that scramble on planes. You should only be able to take one bit of hand luggage. The rest goes in the hold.
13.10.2025 19:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm still furious about Brexit. And I hate how politicians just arenโt talking about it. Never forgive. Never forget.
11.10.2025 08:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0They didnโt just NOT give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, they wrote a citation that reads like an anti-Trump rallying cry.
(Heโs gonna extra-tariff Norway now, isnโt he?)
I love the โGay Nightsโ sheets. Maybe thatโs what did it!
09.10.2025 16:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This was the menu at the agriturismo near my village in Italy the other Sunday. Delicious and homely. The ossobuco was amazing and we took some home to make a delicious pasta sauce the next day. And just look at those prices! So easy to eat well and cheaply in Italy.
09.10.2025 16:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yes, yes I know I keep banging on about my fucking book! However, if you want one repost this and Iโll do a random winner pick thing by the end of the week because Iโm great like that. โฅ๏ธ๐

I always loved the name of that station! Sparks the imagination.

06.10.2025 19:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Always a pleasure to find myself in Euston station, brimming with all the charm of a disused abattoir

20.09.2025 11:07 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I lived in Corsica for a year in the mid 80s. We called this the TGV - Train ร  Grande Vibration.
Iโm sure these new trains are much better!
In London, hate will never win.
17.09.2025 06:10 โ ๐ 7719 ๐ 2201 ๐ฌ 239 ๐ 333I remember these in service! I always think they are the train equivalent of a border terrier. In no way conventionally good looking but ever so attractive and appealing.
16.09.2025 15:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was so excited to head off to university. Itโs only more recently, as friends have had kids going, that Iโve realised how odd it must have been for my parents.
16.09.2025 08:46 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The finest response I've seen so far.
04.09.2025 11:03 โ ๐ 2752 ๐ 702 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 1Interesting about not being able to read for pleasure after university. It took me until 30 and Iโd moved to London and I needed a distraction while commuting. Then I was able just to get lost in books, like in the days before studying.
