This can happen on planes, too, but way less likely.

The stress ratio on flights is significantly higher than subways.

Flying isn't a "third place" - it's a necessary means to an end.
I don't routinely fly public airlines as a hobby, local hall, pub, etc. I fly to get somewhere.
