Meta’s internal memo said the political tumult in the United States was good timing for the feature’s release.

“We will launch during a dynamic political environment where many civil society groups that we would expect to attack us would have their resources focused on other concerns,” according to the document from Meta’s Reality Labs, which works on hardware including smart glasses.

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

Dial D for dysfunction San Francisco’s 911 dispatchers are being asked to work with antiquated equipment, crazy hours, poor mental health, and alongside new trainees who aren’t prepared

Some of the city's most experienced 911 dispatchers tell Gazetteer that the dispatch office is in dire straits due to poor management, broken equipment, flawed training, and low morale.

The dispatchers fear it could get somebody killed.

Four Oglala detainees located, three still in ICE custody - ICT The four Lakota detainees were reportedly sent to a former concentration camp used during the Dakota Wars

This is surreal. 4 Oglala Lakota men kidnapped by ICE in Minneapolis have finally been located. One of them was released but the other 3 are being held at Fort Snelling, a former concentration camp used to imprison Native people incl. the Dakota 38 during Dakota Wars.

Quinnipiac gave me unpublished data from new poll and it finds huge, huge, huge percentages of young and working class voters have seen video of Minneapolis shooting.

Majorities of both disapprove of ICE. Pundits are getting the working class/immigration wrong:

Every second the murderer is not arrested is another second for feds to hide him in a place that would create a jurisdictional fight. He's on video killing a person. You have to arrest this guy an hour ago, but you might still have time now.

Minneapolis mayor says ICE officer’s killing of motorist was ‘reckless’ and wasn’t self-defense An ICE officer shot and killed a Minneapolis motorist, which federal officials claimed was an act of self-defense but the city’s mayor said was “reckless.”

The shooting marks a dramatic escalation of the latest in a series of immigration enforcement operations in major American cities under the Trump administration. It’s at least the fifth person killed in a handful of states since 2024.

1/ In 2022, one year after Trump incited the seditious attack on the US Capitol, I posted a long thread of images on Twitter, because revisionist attempts to create a false narrative about that day were already well underway.

Today, in 2025, I’m re-creating/re-posting that same thread here.👇
