Absolutely could be...we certainly haven't done well at preventing it after arrival: Lack of ltbi screening and treatment but also cost of living crisis, more overcrowding, worse housing, undernutrition, poor treatment of people seeking asylum, break down of primary care all contribute I think.

Ending TB is possible. We have the tools. The investment case is solid. But with UK cutting overseas investment and the USA halting funds to USAID - political will is lacking.

Really enjoyed the little expression of love from our resident doctors this year - comedy certificates of achievement for all the respiratory consultants. Wonder if I can cash in the 300 cpd points for my appraisal next year?!

Key question to the @StopTB board was how can we develop the political will to tackle this. @WHO @TerezaKasaeva suggested including it as a metric in country-level data they collect for the global report. It should also be part of the Multi-sectoral accountability framework.

Too many medical authors (and the MRC) run fast and loose with the terms 'complexity' and 'complex interventions'. They should read this paper.

A meeting bringing together people affected by TB and people working in TB across the UK and from a variety of sectors to discuss TB in the UK and beyond.

Yes. Not for things like lung cancer or TB necessarily but routine referrals.

Never acceptable but yet continues to happen. Need to challenge when we see it and work on changing the culture.
