Three Minneapolis mayor candidates support a stronger policy separating police and ICE Three challengers for the Minneapolis mayor’s seat say they support a ban on Minneapolis police sharing information with federal immigration agencies or providing crowd control for agencies like ICE. ...

ffs of COURSE Frey won’t sign on to this, whereas all three of his challengers have

this story perfectly illustrates why people should rank Omar Fateh, DeWayne Davis, and Jazz Hampton in their preferred order and leave Frey off the ballot

So much egg on the faces of people who wanted to rebuild Hennepin Ave exactly as it was before. So that, after paying the price of a two year reconstruction, it would have reopened just as shitty and dangerous as ever. You should support local candidates who are brave enough to fix our streets.

Political group accuses Frey of improperly deleting texts. Some advocates and media lawyers agree. The Minneapolis city attorney’s office says Mayor Jacob Frey is in compliance with the state transparency laws.

On one hand, nationally renowned media law expert Jane Kirtley says the Frey administration's apparent efforts to circumvent open records law are astounding.

On the other hand, the city attorney appointed by Frey says it's all fine. www.startribune.com/mayor-jacob-...

Trump found another $20 BILLION to give to Argentina, totaling their bailout to $40 BILLION.

Yet we can’t afford to prevent millions of Americans from losing their healthcare.

Minneapolis Downtown Council pulls plug on Holidazzle and Aquatennial, seeks new organizer After years of inconsistent funding, the business group is hoping others will continue or reimagine the city’s signature events as the area keeps working on its post-pandemic rebound.

Maybe if the Downtown Council didn't keep pouring money into PACs that amp up crime fears, we could have kept the Holidazzle Parade.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

β€œMy world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

The stakes of this election couldn’t be clearer. Are we going to bring back the progressive majority on city council and finally elect a mayor who will stand with renters?

Or will Brian Fitterer and his landlord pals funnel enough money to candidates like Frey, Millard and Shaffer to get their way?

These strikes are being done without due process and without Congressional authorization.

This latest strike demonstrates how urgent it is that Congress pass my War Powers Resolution and reassert its constitutional role.
