Imo you just need to DM a game (doesn't really matter what ruleset) beginning to end and see how ya make it work! I agree that trust (that the players trust that the DM is effectively curating their experience) is key. It's a mix of confidence and flexibility.

i chatted to a pal about this the other day at thought bubble and it reminded me: does anyone happen to have a copy of my old comic Myopia? it's a mostly black-and-white book with some autobio and also a little story about time travel that i really want to read again. i think the file is fully lost

ah yeah! i gave away my boomerang to get upgraded but then didn't get it back until after the final fight, haha. i like the red coral drill rockets and i quite got into the flea juice for bosses. i think my fave weapons were the ones with dive kicks, the default one and the architect one.

yeah idk even why i struggled with the high halls fight as much as i did, there's just a few combos of enemies there that really fried my brain haha. karmelita's the hardest of the 3 act 3 bosses for sure. did you have a particular set of crests/weapons you gravitated towards??

this is how they all feel in my memory, entirely possible if i compared death numbers that wouldn't actually be borne out but i've tried to apply this logic

loved lost lace! great duelly Vergil vibes and the setting was so cool. part of me was disappointed a lot of her attacks are reused through Act 3 but another part of me felt cool that i'd kind of already learned to deal with them. i might try and do a boss tier list for difficulty...

i finished Silksong! 87% completion but im gonna leave it at that, i don't always like 100%ing stuff when it's just looking through a shopping list of stuff on a wiki and i'm fine with just having encountered the stuff i encountered naturally.

Also has that fun thing of being like a perfect example of 90s manga drawing sensibilities, everyone's very pointy and the characters all have huge feet like FF7 field models. Plus the most powerful character is a cool clown who rides a cat monster

It's a weird manga tonally but I'm enjoying Hoshin Engi. Sci-fi sort-of-retelling of a famous Chinese epic about gods and demons but with some fun Toriyama-esque metahumor

it's scary how clearly manufactured the outrage is that's now led to the director of the BBC resigning. i know the BBC isn't perfect but it's one of the better english language news sources and it can't/shouldn't bow to disingenuous pressure like this from the far right

Lolll, all I know about this game is that it maybe does the Nier thing where you have to play it multiple times to get different endings. So look forward to that I guess!!!
