I think a lot of people are missing your nuance here: "care they can afford" means people who can't afford care still get it. That's the whole point. Saying "care they can afford" doesn't imply cost.

One of the reasons I don't think the death penalty in the US is viable is because the number of stories like this...where you can get jailed for 67 days because your name is similar to someone else.

Yeah we mostly agree, I just can't handle another campaign like HRC 2016 or Kamala 2024 in 2028. Climate change is definitely the most concerning issue but it almost feels too late. I was only a kid but feels like Gore vs Bush may have been the real most important election of my life.
