Today’s P.E. Lesson was completely learner-led!

In technologies today, we were given the language Arabic and as a group we decided to explore how spring is celebrated differently. In Dubai, there is a spring festival which correlates with Chinese new year and celebrates rebirth and regrowth. #uoePGDEp

We have been exploring spring flowers and focused on symmetry and cutting techniques to create these gorgeous daffodils.

I am so proud of p3 and how hard they have worked! Isn’t it amazing how unique they all look also… so chuffed ❤️ #upePGDEp

We have been looking at different multiplication strategies in p3!

We created our own think-boards, where we considered multiple strategies to help us solve the sums!

This week, p3 have been learning how to multiply by 10!

We have been using place value grids to help us understand the process.

Some learners even challenged themselves to think about what would happen if we divided by 10.

Yesterday, P3 were brainstorming adjectives to describe their marvellous medicine creations! A great collaborative effort, where all learners were engaged! I loved seeing their creativity in action.

The result- some fantastic, exciting vocabulary to use in their writing! #uoePGDEp #uofePGDEp

This week, P3 have been inspired by their class book -George’s Marvellous Medicine. They have been super busy writing their own marvellous medicine recipes and have been very successful in doing so. Have a look at some of their wild ingredients! 🧑‍🔬✏️

Today we were investigating the waterproof properties of different materials!!

This week p3 started learning about materials! We have had so much fun comparing man-made and natural materials and thinking about all the things that are made with them! Today we have a challenge to create some waterproof wellies! I wonder how we will get on! #pgdep #UofEpgdep

This week P3 have been working on reading skills. The learners have been working hard at predicting their story, and describing the characters looks, personalities and backgrounds!! Some very focused, successful learners! #uoePGDEp

Placement 1 is almost over and today a child made this for me. It shows their drawing of 2D shapes and the Star of David. My maths sequence was on 2D/3D shape and my RME sequence was on Judaism/Christianity. How amazing…

A busy week in primary 1!!
This week, we started our maths sequence on shape, created actions for our story owl babies, learnt new sounds (g and f) and explored number through our play!
I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know the children, and learning alongside them each day! ❤️

The Expressive Arts ❤️

I grew up with a love for the expressive arts, so today was the best experience. I loved learning about how to make the arts accessible, inclusive and fun. Cannot wait to to create a classroom environment that uses creativity in all elements of the curriculum.

A fun day exploring social studies and getting to know the importance of place.

Also had a great afternoon exploring forms of capital, something which (not going to lie) I was dreading… but actually rather enjoyed. I love getting to have discussions with my group, they are the best ❤️ #uofePGDEp
