Gestational psychedelic exposure disrupts brain development and offspring behavior in mice Despite increasing non-medical use and clinical investigation of psychedelics, the consequences of prenatal exposure remain unknown. In mice, maternal lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD; 0.3 mg/kg) cross...

TL;DR: Maternal psychedelics reach embryonic CSF within minutes, activate the choroid plexus, alter CSF, and shift cortical development in miceβ€”yielding lasting behavioral changes. A discrete embryonic window is vulnerable via the ChP–CSF axis.

SMAD4 induces opposite effects on metastatic growth from pancreatic tumors depending on the organ of residence - Nature Cancer Using mouse pancreatic cancer models, Tsanov et al. show that reactivation of SMAD4 at metastatic sites promotes tumor growth in the lung through RUNX1 but restrains metastatic growth through KLF4 in the liver, influenced by organ-specific epigenetic states.

🚨Location, location, location! Now out @natcancer.nature.com, the final version of our study showing how a tumor's anatomic site can impact the function of driver gene mutations, using SMAD4 inactivation as in pancreatic cancer as a clinically relevant example: nature.com/articles/s43.... (1/4)
