I don't think I ever did the "Oh, but have you tried...?" for bacon or any other meat product, but with bacon specifically some folks just can't seem to imagine an existence without it.
It's bizarre.

I gotta say, as someone who very much enjoys bacon, people are fucking weird as shit about that specific meat. I've definitely caught myself with a "You don't eat it?" before in ages past (7th Day Adventists also don't!), but it's wild how you can say "I don't eat beef" and it gets less weirdness.
16.02.2026 04:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Exactly this. "I'll vote for whichever candidate has a D next to their name no matter what their actual policy positions are!" sends a message to the politicians that they don't need to care about what you want at all. It's wild that people keep volunteering their unconditional support.

IT'S A WORLD WHERE WORK IS NOT RELATED TO SATISFYING OUR NEEDS, WORLD WHERE WORK IS ONLY RELATED TO SATISFYING THE PROFIT NEEDS OF BUSINESS. THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT BUILT BY THE HUGE CORPORATIONS OR GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACIES. IT WAS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO WORK. AND, IT IS WORKING PEOPLE WHO SHOULD CONTROL THE WORK TO BE DONE. YET, AS LONG AS EMPLOYMENT IS TIED TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S PROFITS, THE WORK WONT GET DONE.

If you make something popular enough eventually you will die or sell it off and and a person in thick rimmed glasses whose main artistic vision is that he loves to have meetings will take it and sandblast it until it's nothing. I hate to see this happen here but maybe it's good that this happened. Maybe every franchise should collapse into a version of itself that makes shareholders nod and shake each others' hands. We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend.
