Blumenthal: ICE and CBP are out of control. The practices of this agency have to be completely overhauled. It’s like a corporation in bankruptcy—either dissolved or reorganized. They’re morally bankrupt, legally bankrupt, and politically bankrupt.

From Big Lots to warehousing humans: ICE plan sparks fear in Schuylkill County | Will Bunch A massive warehouse in Tremont, Pa., that once moved cheap goods will now detain migrants in a $119 million ICE deal.

ICE's concentration camp is even too toxic in a place like Mississppi for far right Republican wingnut Senators like Roger Wicker.

Where is the pushback from Pennsylvania's Republican Senators (and so called centrist house members) including @fetterman.senate.gov?

Just this week, we’ve seen multiple GOP Members of Congress speak out against ICE warehouses planned in their state or district.

The tide is turning against the regime’s lawlessness, but we know ICE is still purchasing commercial warehouses. Is Trump trying to build a mass detention camp near you?

#tdih 1959 In Norfolk VA, 17 AfAm students began attending 6 previously all-white middle and high schools.

They faced relentless repression, yet were determined to desegregate their schools. After graduation, many of the Norfolk 17 earned PhDs and wrote books.

What ICE Should Have Learned from the Fugitive Slave Act Americans took to the streets to defend their neighbors in the nineteenth century, too.

Fugitive Slave Act forced question: "Were Northerners prepared to watch their neighbors, many of whom had lived in their communities for years, be violently removed from their homes or grabbed off the streets? For many, answer was no." - @jelaniya.bsky.social Read ⬇️

ICE Begins Buying ‘Mega’ Warehouse Detention Centers Across US Plans for such centers and jails in nearly two dozen communities have sparked protests over suitability, proximity to homes and schools.

BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

A Running Count of How Many People ICE Has Killed and Injured - The American Prospect ICE is not required to report any use-of-force incidents against the public. So The American Prospect created our own running tally.

We are publishing a running list of deaths and woundings as a result of the interior enforcement blitzkrieg across the country.
That includes deaths during apprehension and deaths in custody. This will be consistently updated.
Currently, there are 8 dead, 9 wounded, & 35 deaths in custody.

Here, I discuss how a lot of U.S. public workers are in immigration enforcement and carceral industries.

And how the romanticization of labor and unions, including among abolitionists, can ignore the reality that this violence is done as paid work, often unionized, and is major part of the economy.

But there is reason for hope, optimism. Look at the cities that have been raided by ICE: Where the communities are engaging in mass resistance – normal people who must know they risk getting attacked and detained, who are willing to sacrifice their freedom and their bodies.
