Inktober Day 5, "Deer": The Peryton is a creature which first appeared in the "Book of Imaginary Beings", inspired by medieval heraldry. Though they appear as seen, they cast the shadow of a human, their preferred prey. According to D&D, they particularly enjoy dining on the heart of their victim. 🦌

It's rutting season. This older drawing on a train ticket is from c.2013 (eek), but I'm still fond of it. I'd visited Wollaton Hall and deer park in Nottingham (wollatonhall.org.uk), hence the ticket to Beeston.

its much easier for me to get into interesting topics when i experience them with people i like for example, because that provides the dopamine. adhd kind of makes your brain experience any given effort that doesnt lead to immediate dopamine as literally painful in a way thats hard to explain to ppl

i think a really important part of adhd and even autism discussions is to kind of reveal the "weird" and niche way these things impact us, so other people can at least find some connecting point and not feel alone/ashamed about "weird" things they go through

i cant really fully judge it for someone else, but this is a feeling i have 100%. and i couldnt explain it to anybody! its definitely adhd for me.

a trait of adhd thats not talked about often enough is that it makes it genuinely a challenge to bring up and maintain interest for stuff.. its like your brain reads it as an effort to engage emotionally with new art or music so it avoids it. its so dumb
