This guy gets frequent social media posts misidentifying it as a tasseled wobbegong shark, but it's not! It's a goosefish!

I learned this when I put him on a random encounter entry for my WORM dungeon, SHRINES OF THE LOWER OSSUARY.

More doodles of Mario cladistics. This time, vertebrates! The only thing I can tell you about Shy Guys is that they're (probably) tetrapods. "Ape Kongs" covers 3 different species: Gorilla Kongs like Donkey, Orangukongs like Lanky, and Chimpankongs like Dixie.

And here are some design sketches for it. The wing-legs were the hardest part, and I had a tough time figuring out to strap pterosaur wings on backwards. The most fun part was studying the grapplers Simon had already drawn and deconstructing the parts I had to work with.

Color schemes for harpies done by looking at different vulture species. Old World vultures are very high on my list of favorite birds. Influences not listed on the page include the red-headed, white-backed, and white-rumped vultures.

Like other large herbivores, orcs migrate seasonally in order to replenish the great quantities of plant life they need to survive. To other species, they are at best a curiosity and at worst a threat. Orcs' natural friendliness is often put to the test in these interactions.

After the fire dragon, I think the lightning dragon was the other one whose head never quite convinced me
