About a month ago, I posted about the clipping I took from a certain lilac bush planted in the early 1840s by a famous person. Lilac is notoriously difficult to propegate. Of the six clippings I tried to start, ONE ROOTED! Now it just needs to start growing new leaves!

This was not a costume. Every element—red brocade, black cravat, pentacle pin, black skirt—was chosen for embodiment. I showed up as the magician I am: queer, grounded, and sovereign. To those still learning how to show up in your own skin: the path opens when you stop asking for permission.

Hans Leisegang’s *Die Gnosis,* another acquisition for my collection of exact magic-related books owned by Jung.

Jung owned the 1892 first edition of Mead’s *Simon Magus.* At least this is an exact reproduction!

Another exact edition of magic-related books owned by Jung. This one, *Amulets and Superstitions* by Budge, was a nice find. Seller thought that the front gilding was worn off, but the first printings were only gilded on the spine.

I believe he had more going on than just studying comparative mythology. I'm working on a book right now that discusses this exact issue.

Another acquisition for my collection of magic-related books owned by Jung. *Les Mystêres L’art Royal.* This one is primarily Masonic, but still magic-adjacent. This is the only hardcover copy I’ve ever come across!

Some of the magic-related books owned by Jung are either impossible, or prohibitively expensive, so I have to rely for now on reprints. Here are three I acquired this past week.

In October 2017, my husband and I visited C. G. Jung's personal library. My husband pointed out Thorndike's *History of Magic and Experimental Science*. I have looked for years for a set I could afford, and finally I have been able to add it to my collection of magic-related books owned by Jung!

I’ve recently been able to acquire a few more books for my collection of magic-related books in the exact editions owned by Jung. Most are still en route to me. This one is (in English) *Religion and Magic Among Indigenous Peoples.*.

For many years, I’ve wanted to take cuttings from a certain lilac tree that a “famous” person planted about 186 years ago. I finally got some! Wish me rooting luck!

It’s a curious thing. Despite my 20 year “apostasy” from (the modern LDS church’s heavily expurgated version of) Mormonism, this place retains a sacred hold on me. Whenever I’m in the Midwest, I try to make a side trip to touch base.

I’ve had the pleasure of conducting the opening ritual and also presenting a paper at the annual conference of the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies!

I’m both honored and humbled, having been elected today to the Board of Directors for the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies. I look forward to doing all I can to promote and build upon this wonderful organization!
