I finally got my combat system all worked out for my game. Animations are janky(see the snapping), but that is what I like to call a "future me problem"โ„ข๏ธ

But AI is in a working and mostly complete state, I'm excited to move on to some other things now.

I'm mostly just confused, I'm not even sure what they are trying to say in that statement. But still, I agree with your logic. Most people know ai is despised, so they are gonna downplay it as much as possible.

Like others have said, its a dream. You hold on to the idea that maybe, just maybe your game will make it.

But also keep in mind that a lot of raw statistics don't paint the right picture. Its not random luck that makes a game succeed, but years of skill and hard work...and some luck.
