America’s Dumbest Billionaires Fail to Stop Zohran Mamdani - The American Prospect It’s encouraging on many levels: New York City didn’t submit to a campaign of flagrant bigotry from disgraced two-time loser Andrew Cuomo, and Americans, particularly young ones, can still be politically inspired by a good candidate with a good message.

Billionaires wasted millions to prop up the flailing campaign of two-time loser Andrew Cuomo. It’s the result of a bunch of rich guys who are terminally online. From @ryanlcooper.com: trib.al/f9z2ubC

Going into Supreme Court arguments over
President Donald Trump's tariffs on Wednesday, it was genuinely difficult to guess how the justices would rule. Within minutes, that suspense vanished. The hearing was a bloodbath for the Trump administration: Six justices lined up to bash the Justice Department's defense of the tariffs, barely disguising their annoyance with the government's barrage of blustery nonsense. At the halfway point, it would've saved everyone time had the court just huddled, announced its decision from the bench, and recessed early for lunch. Trump's signature trade policy-which he expected to raise trillions of dollars for him to use as he wished-looks dead on arrival at SCOTUS. We have spent ten months waiting to see if, and when, this court would set a limit on Trump's power. Perhaps we should've guessed that its extraordinary deference to this president could be outweighed only by its hatred of taxes.

If I had to guess right now (and it is premature!) I'd say the Supreme Court is going to strike down Trump's tariffs.

All three liberals are clearly against the government. Barrett too. Roberts leaning that way. And we haven't even gotten to tax-hater Gorsuch yet.

Post Toppings on Sandwiches Disorder.

But also? Great example of how police often oversell the risks they face—here reduced to a transparent farce, but all too often the farcical nature is harder to see.

Two of the media organizations that have really "met the moment" in national coverage are Teen Vogue and WIRED.

Along with student-run college newspapers in general. And scores of local start-ups.

The main hope for journalism (in its dark times) is the next wave of journalists.

Melissa now up to 175mph sustained winds (150kt), with a central pressure of 906mb.

That's among the 10 or 12 strongest hurricanes ever measured in the Atlantic basin, back to 1851. Regardless of whether they made landfall.

Melissa is likely to make landfall in Jamaica at near-peak strength.
