Hypothetically speaking, what would be a better domain for an #atproto powered reddit competitor: bskit[dot]app or gist[dot]gg?

I suppose the complication is if my app has a custom schema to store some additional fields. Wouldn't users hosted from a different PDS not be able to save my custom fields, despite being able to sign in?

When building AT protocol apps, you either introduce a hard dependency on the bsky PDS or host your own, losing out on the instant userbase. Anyone have ideas on how to balance this, as the latter seems pretty important. The average user doesn't care about technical implementation.
