Todo culminó hace apenas una década. Gaia, antes renimbrada por aquellos haciéndose llamar "Humanos" como la tierra prometida, fue profanada por aquellos seres en busca de dinero y poder, con maquinarias, estructuras, que hacían llorar a su flora y, por supuesto, a los Pokémon habitantes del lugar. Estos humanos no buscaban mas que su propio disfrute, algunos incluso cazando por disfrute, o por el afán de convertir aquel lugar en lo que ellos decían "el perfecto esbozo de una sociedad ideal".

Tal fue la codicia humana que se cometieron actos atroces, tan maquiavélicos que en cuanto un ser osado se atrevió a cruzar la línea con un simple acto de crueldad inhumana, desató con ello la ira del creador. Arceus, enfadado, castigó a los humanos a sufrir las consecuencias. Aquellos más desalmados pagaron con su vida, mientras que los demás fueron convertidos en aquellos seres que más odiaban: así es, en estos mismos Pokémon que antes habrían torturado por mera diversión o por razones inútiles a ojos del creador.

Rumores existen de que aquellas almas despiadadas todavía existen, atormentando la región. Otras dicen que, si el pueblo es generoso y se porta bien, quizás Arceus se apiadaria de sus almas, devolviendoles su forma original. Pero lo que es cierto es que esta tierra, ahora escondida, despoja de su humanidad a todo aquel que intente traspasarla, y aquellos que se van nunca regresan igual.
