Tbf, the Raptors had that role throught the entire franchise to one degree or another. They anthropomorphised them as malicious & evil, you could believe they'd track you out of spite. This blatantly said "fuck the Raptors" in that early scene & didn't fill the role with anything quite as effective.

In the OG, the Raptors were given that role and because it was new it worked. In Lost World, they were there again as they were scary but you had the T Rex threat about the baby Rex. 3 Relied on the raptors again but it made sense because of stolen eggs. This new film just didn't have a good threat.

Either that or he was scoping out the roof for where he'd put the upstairs extension for his family to move in. My money's on senility though.

Jurassic Park : Mutant Boogaloo was a bit meh, not bad but nothing to write home about and even the worst of the other films had you on the edge of your seat at points. This was a damp squib. No real threat felt throughout. Watch it if you can for free when it goes on streaming.
