I do all of the above nowadays. I have historically been a hard copy reader, but when I started working with my hands a lot during my crafting years I listened to audiobooks, and now that I have small kids I use an e-reader so I can read in the dark while other people sleep. #bookvember

I avoided steamy, melodramatic YA love triangles. My characters’ romance feels slow but inevitable, rooted in mutual trust and emotional attachment over overt physical attraction. It’s so hard!!! I want to lean hard into character moments like all the time, but I have to remind myself that I can’t have too many “low intensity” moments in a row, especially at the beginning and end of chapters. It can be emotional intensity or physical or whatever, but there must be tension.

I pretty much only do academic writing and fantasy! The fantasy might range from adventure to romantasy, and this is my only project that’s a portal fantasy. Usually I do a totally fictional world.

No “global” but about a million uses of “world” 😅
