The first version of this device was designed in my KiCad live stream.

New:

All comparators have hysteresis.

When the current is over 1 mA, the Red LED blinks. When the current is in the band, the Red LED is always on.

When the current isn't going through it, the Green LED is constantly on.

The SN74LVCH8T245 is an 8-bit noninverting bus transceiver
The A port is designed to track VCCA, , 1.65 V to 5.5 V.
The B port is designed to track VCCB, 1.65 V to 5.5 V. This allows for universal low-voltage bidirectional translation between any of the 1.8-V, 2.5-V, 3.3-V, and 5.5-V voltage nodes.

Tin balls on the WLCSP packages are troublemakers.

The Pb-free balls don't always go along with SnPb solder paste.

I had to reflow the package three times until I found a way to win the game.

The greyish Pb-free solder balls are vile.

The lesson was learned and let's go further.

OpAmp can be rail-to-rail at zero output current ONLY!

Surprised?

You can't outrun resistance.

โ€ข When using a rail-to-rail OpAmp, be aware of the output load.
โ€ข 10 kฮฉ is ok.
โ€ข 100 kฮฉ is better.
โ€ข 1 kฮฉ is too low.
โ€ข Always check the datasheet and look for "swing" or "dropout".

The 3D-printed mockup PCB helps me verify areas where I am short of skills.

Every time I print a PCB mockup or a gadget that improves my HW design workflow, I am super happy.

Hands down, the 3D printer is the second-best tool for HW designers next to the soldering iron.

Cats destroyed my soldering iron. When I got back home,

the iron was in pieces. Luckily, I am a prepper...

A few years ago, I bought two generic Hakko soldering iron handles. Just the hand part with a cable at the end.

I repaired the iron and I am happy now that it happened.

I always plan my daily schedule into blocks.

Right now, I am in the middle of the mfg block.

The first prototype version's performance equals the second version, which is unsatisfactory.

It doesn't mean the second version is useless. It serves as a confirmation that this way isn't correct.

My newest demo with AD5160. The oscillator controlled by the digital potentiometer!

The digital potentiometer replaced one of the resistors in the 555 oscillator circuit, thereby directly controlling the period.

The Digital Potentiometer demo can be fun.

I made it fun by replacing one of the resistors of the 555.

A DigiPOT, the Analog Devices AD5160, is used to control a 555 oscillator. The AD5160โ€™s SPI control allows for easy adjustment of the oscillatorโ€™s period by changing the resistance value.

I recently made this error with a D-type flip-flop.

To mix things up, there is SN74HCT74 that uses PRE and /CLR and CD74HCT74 with /PRE and /CLR which mirrors the SN74HC74.
