This is true of so, so, so many things. You can try a game of saying, “hey, what would be true if both my experience and this fact that feels opposite of my experience were true at the same time”. I think it is really useful. You don’t have live in that space but its okay to play in it.

I think of it that there are two types of importance. The importance of me being me and what I need. And the importance of me being a part of things and impacting others and my world in small ways just by being there and present

Me too! My little will eat nearly any fruit or vegetable & is in the habit of trying at least 1 bite of anything, but the list of reliable foods has become increasingly restricted over the last year - add to that diverging dietary needs for the grown ups & I'm running out of ideas 😭

Well, I mean, we haven't gotten her to stop watching Fox when FiL puts it on, but I did get her to go to Harshbarger's office once to at least ask about what's going on so IDK - at a minimum, she can't say that she wasn't told!

Agree! One of the first things that got through was showing my MiL the proposed Medicaid cuts. As a scientist, I'm very fact heavy, but there's data that presenting opposing facts only solidifies the existing position - so then I get overwhelmed & don't know where to start lol
